Global Tipping Points
Taiwan and the U.S.; 40 Years On
The World Affairs Council of New Hampshire is excited to host the Director-General of the Taipei Cultural and Economic Office in Boston to speak about the state of U.S. - Taiwan relations and the special relationship the two governments share. Ever since 1979, the US has operated under the "One Nation, Two Systems" model for their relationship with China, Taiwan, and the U.S. As China continues to grow and assert more power on the international stage, this bi-lateral relationship has become more important to the maintenance of peace across the Strait of Taiwan. Join us for this insightful discussion on where the relationship began, where it stands now, and where it is headed.
