ABOUT WOOD TURNER
Wood Turner is Stonyfield’s VP of Sustainability Innovation. Wood has appeared in many of the world’s leading media outlets, among them the New York Times, NPR, The Economist, BBC, and the Harvard Business Review. Prior to his current position, Wood served as Executive Director of Climate Counts, a non-profit that scores companies annually on their commitment to addressing climate change in meaningful, measurable ways. While there, he built a voluntary benchmarking program called Industry Innovators, attracting companies representing over $30B in revenues so far.
Wood holds degrees from Duke University and the University of Washington. Wood has long helped companies realize value from their investments in sustainability and climate protection and has led a range of public and private brand-building and social marketing efforts. He participated in the transportation/land use working group of the New Hampshire governor’s Climate Change Task Force and has advised several high-profile projects, including Newsweek Magazine’s corporate green rankings.
ABOUT CHRISTOS PAPOUTSY
Christos Papoutsy is a successful, semi-retired business executive. During his career, Mr. Papoutsy led thousands of employees world-wide and developed his company into a global leader in the electronics industry. He is a business graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, and he later pursued post-degree studies at Harvard University in law, mediation, and psychology. In 1991, he received an honorary Doctor of Lawdegree from his alma mater. Mr. Papoutsy has lectured on business and business ethics at universities and educational institutions in Europe, and the United States, including Oxford University, Dartmouth College, the University of New Hampshire, Southern New Hampshire University, and The American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce in Athens, Greece.
Christos Papoutsy is a former mediator and director of United States Arbitration & Mediation of New England, Inc. Many of his lectures on mediation and business ethics are available to the public through Hellenic Communication Services athttp://www.helleniccomserve.com. With his wife, he is founder of the Christos and Mary Papoutsy Distinquished Chair in Ethics at Southern New Hampshire University (www.snhu.edu).
ABOUT MICHELE GOLDSMITH
Dr. Michele Goldsmith is the Papoutsy Distinguished Chair in Ethics and Social Responsibility and associate professor of Science at SNHU. Prior to her current position, she was the scientist-in-residence at Emerson College, assistant professor at Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine,and the McKennan Postdoctoral Fellow at Dartmouth College. She received a Master of Science from Bucknell University and Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Anthropology from Stony Brook University.
As a Fulbright Scholar, she studied lowland gorillas in the Congo, and in 1999, as a National Geographic researcher, began her long-term study examining the impacts and ethical implications of mountain gorilla tourism in Uganda.
Goldsmith is on the board of the Great Ape World Heritage Species Project and Conservation New Hampshire and has published numerous scientific articles, book chapters and is co-editor of "Gorilla Biology: A Multidisciplinary Perspective," Cambridge University Press. Although primates are her focus, she is interested in conservation and ethical issues surrounding all wild and captive animals.
