2017 New Hampshire Academic WorldQuest Competition

Sunday, March 12: 10 AM- 2 PM

  (Daylight savings- Spring ahead 1 hour!)

Members of the public are invited to join us: hear from keynote speaker Dylan Mahalingam- Founder of Lil MDG's and Social Activist, cheer on your favorite team, and play along from the audience!

Academic WorldQuest is a competition for NH high school students to test their knowledge of the world!  Teams of 4-5 students compete against each other by answering multiple choice questions about 10 topics in world affairs.

SCHEDULE:

10:00 am - Registration & Snacks

10:30 am- Welcome: Anna Berry, Executive Director, World Affairs Council of NH; Patty Lynott, Provost, SNHU

Remarks: Jeremy Walker, McLane Middleton

Keynote Address: Dylan Mahalingam

11 am - Competition begins. Emcee: Scott Spradling

12 pm - Break/Lunch

12:30 pm - Competition resumes

1:30 pm - Winners announced; Raffle & Ice Cream Sundae Bar

High schools represented: Derryfield School (Manchester), Milford High School, Moultonborough Academy, Oyster River High School (Durham), Pinkerton Academy (Derry), Portsmouth High School, Souhegan High School (Amherst), and St. Thomas Aquinas (Dover).

More about Dylan Mahalingam:

Dylan Mahalingam has designed and delivered youth engagement programs since he co-founded Lil’ MDGs when he was 9 years old.  Dylan worked on several successful campaigns and projects that engaged over four million youth from 41 countries to forward the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as of the MDGs conclusion date of December 31, 2015. In 2008, Dylan became the Chief Strategist for Under the Acacia and engages and leads groups worldwide to build sustainable communities in Africa.

Dylan served the Lil’ MDGs between 2004 to 2014 as its Executive Director and from 2014 to 2015 as a Principal Consultant.  He's been a speaker for the United Nations since 2009.
